Homeowners Meeting at the Social Hall
2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Guest speakers:
Lt. Minich, Olmsted Township Police Department
Marla Daugherty, Cleveland Clinic Lifeline Program

The meeting was called to order by our President, Frank Pojman. Ken Miller guided us in prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

SECRETARY:
Jean Katitus read the minutes of the November Homeowners meetings. Minutes accepted and approved as read.

TREASURER:
Brenda Kocevar read the Treasurer’s report. No corrections or additions. Approved and accepted.

GUEST SPEAKER – LT. MINICK – OLMSTED TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPTARTMENT:
* Lt. Minick reported that there was an increase in arrests for the year and more citations were handed out.
* He also reported that Ronald Dudas of County Home Mortgage was finally arrested and sentenced to 30 years in prison. This case which started in 2001 is now closed.
* Announced that forms are available to let the Police Department how we feel about their response to calls.
* He reported the entire Police Department was working well under Chief McNeely.

GUEST SPEAKER – Marla Daugherty, Cleveland Clinic Lifeline Program

Demonstrated how the Lifeline Unit works along with prices for the service. She answered questions after the meeting.

COURT CASE: Frank Pojman
Reported that the Homeowner’s Association received an offer from Management regarding settlement of the court case. The executive board refused the offer and George Cochran notified management that they were to contact him in the future regarding any settlement offers. Frank was given a vote of confidence at the 2 o’clock meeting for the handling of this matter.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Frank, Nancy Harber and Brenda Kocevar attended a meeting held by John Gallo to inform the Ohio legislature about a conference taking place in March to discuss health care, national security and affordable living for seniors. The conference will inform our leaders as to what we can do to “help them help us”.

Homeowners Meeting at the Social Hal

The meeting was called to order by our President, Frank Pojman. Due to personal reasons, Pat Bittner has resigned as Association Chaplin. Bill Crell, replaces her and guided us in prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

SECRETARY:
Jean Katitus read the minutes of the January Homeowners meetings. Minutes accepted and approved as read.

TREASURER: Brenda Kocevar read the Treasurer’s report. No corrections or additions. Approved and accepted.
Brenda also reported on the Trinity Cathedral Conference. Everyone who attended was very pleased with the outcome.

FOOD BANK: Mary and Bill Kubat, Chairpersons
Mary reported that this summer we will have another ICE CREAM SOCIAL as a fund raiser. She also encouraged homeowners who might be having problems making ends meet due to the economy to contact her for assistance even if assistance is temporary. Bill Kubat has tickets for the 69th annual scholarship drive at St. Ignatius. The tickets are being sold in the name of Columbia Park Homeowners Association.

H/OT NEWS:
Duane Frayer reported the H/OT NEWS is having trouble with delivery and needs help.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: from Frank Pojman

Frank suggested that homeowners write to Representative Louis Blessing to let him know we oppose his bill authorizing park owners to put people out of their manufactured homes if they have not payed their water bills in a timely fashion.

Mike Foley has written a bill to permit attorneys to bring charges against owners and also allow homeowners to join associations without fear of problems.

The bus is full for the March 13th casino trip. This trip is a fund raiser for the association and organized by Mary Jane Whalen.

Guest speakers:

The meeting was called to order by our President, Frank Pojman. Bill Crell guided us in prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Our newest Homeowner, Shirley Smith of 36 Periwinkle, was introduced and welcomed to HTA.

TREASURER:
Chuck Palmer read the Treasurer’s report for Brenda Kocevar. No corrections or additions. Approved and accepted.

GUEST SPEAKER – LT. MINICK – OLMSTED TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPTARTMENT:
Lt. Minick reported that a Bike Patrol has been started in the Township. The officer patrolled Columbia Park on his bike on Sunday and Monday of this week. Did you see him and give a wave?

Traffic has been extremely heavy on Stearns Rd. around the 4 o’clock hour and homeowners are advised to avoid that area during that time period.

Answered questions and addressed homeowners concerns.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: from Frank Pojman

The Cuyahoga County Auditor is no longer granting tax adjustments to Manufactured homeowners who purchased their homes after 2000. Mike Foley has been contacted for clarification of the law.

Three cheers to the Ohio Legislature for unanimously passing a budget that includes Property Tax Relief for Seniors, lowering tuition costs at Ohio colleges and universities and lowering the cost of health insurance for children.

Encouraged homeowners to sign sheets found on every table requesting Senator Voinovich to restore funding to Adult Protective Services and increase funds for Ohio Works First Child Program.

The Wellness Center at the Renaissance is presently ‘on hold’. Plans for Dr. Wayne to expand his practice to include Columbia Park Homeowners is also ‘on hold’.

The Columbia Park Garden Club will be selling plants and Friday and Saturday, May 11th and 12th from 9 o’clock to 4 o’clock at the Social Hall.

Email from Renee Musat – don’t pump any gas on May 15th to protest high gas prices.

COURT CASE:
Nine months have passed since our appeal of Judge Burnside’s ruling was filed. A journal entry posted on March 6th indicates that the briefs filed by both sides were the wrong type size.

PARK EXPANSION:
The Olmsted Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on the application #20070450 submitted by Management requesting an extensionon for the conditional use variance that was granted in 2004 to expand Columbia Park. The hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 7 p.m. at the IRISH AMERICAN CLUB. Please plan to attend and oppose the expansion.

FOOD BANK: Mary and Bill Kubat, Chairpersons
Mary reports that the Food Bank helped many Homeowners at Easter.

The SECOND ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL will be on Sunday, August 26th, from 2 to 5 p.m. Donation: $3.00
